Frank Thompson – Associate Director

Frank is currently the Associate Director of the original production of The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End.

Recent credits include Puss in Boots and Blues in the Night for the Hackney Empire as well as Taboo at the Brixton Clubhouse.

Previously he was the resident director on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Sound of Music (London Palladium and UK Tour). He directed The Australian Fire & Flood Benefit (Palace Theatre) and co-directed/choreographed A Christmas Carol (Arts Theatre).

Frank has worked extensively with Fascinating Aida having directed their comeback (Jermyn Street Theatre) and Fascinating Aida: The Silver Jubilee at the Edinburgh Festival, Broadway and South Africa, as well as their UK tour. In 2007 he staged a new production of The Marriage of Figaro (Sadler’s Wells and UK tour) and co-directed and choreographed Rags (Chelsea Theatre). He also directed and choreographed for the opera band Amici Forever (UK, Australia and New Zealand stadium tours).

Choreography credits include Darren Hayes (UK Tour) Tom Foolery (Jermyn Street Theatre and UK tour); Aladdin, Cinderella, A Christmas Carol, The Ultimate Knees Up, and Mother Goose (Hackney Empire); MGM with Cyd Charisse and The Styne Way (London Palladium); The Beaux Stratagem and The Boyfriend (Wimbledon); The Fleet’s In (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane); Slapper and Slaphead (The Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester). Associate choreographer for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (at the London Palladium, the Ford Centre on Broadway, and for the UK tour). Frank was the assistant choreographer on War & Peace for English National Opera, and resident choreographer for Miss Saigon. He has reproduced work for The Royal Variety Show, Proms in the Park, Children In Need, Blue Peter, The Variety Club of Great Britain Awards and ITV’s The Christmas Show.
