Mark is an Associate and Lighting Consultant to the Royal National Theatre and Lighting Adviser to the Almeida Theatre.

He was the recipient of the 1992, 1995, 2000 and 2002 Laurence Olivier Awards for Lighting Design, was a nominee in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2001 and was nominated in the 1996, 1999 and 2005 US Tony Awards. Mark was also recently awarded aWelsh BAFTA.

Has lit extensively for all the major theatre, opera and dance companies in the UK and has lit over 50 West End productions, notably Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Iceman Cometh, The Judas Kiss, Copenhagen, Democracy, Hamlet ,The Real Thing (all also on Broadway), Amy’s View, Our House, Up for Grabs, Marguerite, Tonight’s the Night, Grease, West Side Story (also UK tours), Spend Spend Spend!, Neville’s Island, Follies, Mutiny, Passion, As You Desire Me,The Sound of Music (also in Toronto), Rowan Atkinson in Revue (also Broadway and world tour).

Productions for the Royal National Theatre include: Racing Demons, Les Parents Terribles, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (all also on Broadway), Hamlet, Murmuring Judges,The Absence ofWar, All My Sons, Playboy of theWesternWorld, Henry V, Edmond, Mourning Becomes Electra,Time and the Conways, Gethsemane and The History Boys.

Work in opera includes productions for ENO (On the Town), the Royal Opera (Sophie’s Choice),WNO,Opera North,Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Dance productions includes work for LCDT, Rambert Dance Company, the Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Northern Ballet, SWRB.

Television and film productions include: The Tall Guy, Rowan Atkinson in Boston, Under Milk Wood,Wales Millennium Centre Opening Royal Gala.

Architectural work: Royal Court redevelopment, Madame Tussaud’s (London, Las Vegas and NewYork).
